HSE University Students Research Dangerous Natural Processes in Mountains
The Third Caucasus Summer School was recently held in the city of Ozurgeti (Georgia). It brought together two dozen students from different countries: the United Kingdom, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Russia. Their main task was to analyse dangerous natural processes in the mountains and determine their impact on the development of local tourism.
HSE University Hosts Educational Forum of the Greater Eurasian Partnership
The forum was held as part of HSE University’s International Partners' Week, which coincides with Russia’s chairship of the EAEU and is aimed at connecting the strategies and initiatives of its participants in the fields of education, science, and technology. The forum was attended by representatives from 23 countries and more than 40 scientific and educational organisations. Moving in Circles or Breaking Out: New Exhibition at HSE ART GALLERY
From September 18 to November 19, the HSE ART GALLERY is hosting a new exhibition from the HSE Art and Design School: ‘Going Over Old Ground?’ Its curator is Alexandra Mitlyanskaya, artist and head of the Screen Arts and Video Art tracks at the HSE Art and Design School. Guests will see experimental cinema, video art, and animation created by students and graduates of the school.
HSE University Holds 10th Summer School ‘Eye-tracking in the Lab and Beyond’
This year, more than 100 students from Russia and abroad took part in the 10th summer neurolinguistic school, ‘Eye-tracking in the Lab and Beyond’. The school is held annually by the HSE Center for Language and Brain. Leading experts spoke about advanced developments and research in the field of video-oculography.
UAE Delegation Visits HSE University
HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov has held a meeting with a delegation from the United Arab Emirates headed by Undersecretary of Academic Affairs for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education Mohammed Ibrahim Al Mu’alla. Representatives of leading universities in the UAE took part in the meeting.
Garuda Festival at HSE University: Getting to Know Indonesian Culture
For the first time, HSE University has hosted the Garuda festival, where Indonesian students in Moscow could talk about their culture. The embassy of Indonesia helped organise the festival.
Data Analysis and Personalised Medicine: Summer School in Cardiogenetics
The Continuing Professional Development Centre of the HSE Faculty of Computer Science has recently hosted the summer school 'Cardiogenetics: From Sequencing to Constructing a Cardio Panel'. The school programme was co-organised by the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Analytical Instrumentation and Institute of Spectroscopy and the Syntol company.
HSE Urban Fest Gathers Urban Development Researchers
On September 12th, Urban Fest was held at HSE University. Students, staff and guests of the HSE University learned what revitalization means in the context of urbanism and why every conscious citizen should delve into this process. The participants immersed themselves in the study of the urban environment, listened to lectures from experts and visited a fair of HSE student organisations.
HSE Centre of Music Projects Opens 20th Season
In early September, Stanislav Korchagin, winner of the third prize in the 17th International Tchaikovsky Competition, gave a concert at the Small Hall of the HSE Cultural Centre. The event opened the new season by HSE Centre of Music Projects.
‘Seeing Moscow Ranked First among the Cities of BRICS Countries Is Pleasant, but Not Surprising’
An international consortium of research organisations from China, India, and Russia, including HSE University’s Faculty of Urban and Regional Development represented by experts from the Vysokovsky Graduate School of Urban Studies and Planning and the Centre for Social Research and Technological Innovation (CITY), is developing an index of technological and spatial urban development (the Urban & Innovation Environment Index). Recently, a list of the top 10 largest cities of the BRICS countries was published on the project’s website. The Russian capital took the first place in the ranking, followed by Beijing, Shanghai, Sao Paulo, and Guangzhou.
